Privacy Policy

How we handle personal information across our websites, enquiries, and legal services.

1. Our commitment

Collins Quarters International respects your privacy. This policy explains how we collect, hold, use, and disclose personal information in connection with our Australian operations and Australian website visitors, in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).

Where we collect personal information in India or Malaysia, additional local requirements may apply; we will provide supplementary notices where required for those interactions.

2. What we collect

We may collect:

  • identity and contact details (name, email, phone, company, role);
  • enquiry and matter-related information you choose to provide;
  • billing and payment-related identifiers (processed by our payment service providers where you pay online);
  • technical data such as IP address, device type, and general location derived from IP;
  • communication records (including email and call logs) with our firm.

We will only collect sensitive information (for example, health information or government identifiers) where you consent and it is reasonably necessary for our legal services, or as otherwise permitted by law.

3. How we use personal information

We use personal information to:

  • respond to enquiries and deliver legal services you have requested;
  • administer consultations, engagements, conflicts checks, and billing;
  • comply with legal and professional obligations (including anti-money laundering laws where applicable);
  • improve our website, security, and client experience;
  • send updates or invitations where permitted by law or with your consent (you may opt out of non-essential communications).

4. Disclosure

We may disclose personal information to courts, tribunals, regulators, insurers, auditors, technology vendors (for example, hosting, email, scheduling, or payment platforms), and professional advisers, where reasonably necessary to provide legal services or meet our legal obligations.

We do not sell personal information. We may disclose information overseas when your matter or our service delivery involves cross-border teams, subject to APP 8 requirements (including reasonable steps to ensure overseas recipients handle information consistently with the APPs, where applicable).

5. Security

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal information from misuse, interference, loss, and unauthorised access, modification, or disclosure. No online transmission is completely secure; please use secure channels for highly confidential material once we have confirmed engagement and file-security protocols with you.

6. Access, correction, and complaints

You may request access to or correction of your personal information by contacting our Privacy Officer at info@collinsquarters.com. We will respond within a reasonable period.

If you believe we have mishandled your personal information, please contact us first. You may also complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at www.oaic.gov.au.

7. Cookies and analytics

Our website may use cookies and similar technologies for functionality, analytics, and marketing measurement. You can control cookies through your browser settings. Analytics providers may process technical data on our behalf in accordance with their policies.
